Does it seem unlikely that people with great wealth would not conspire with others, including politicians to increase their wealth and power? Should we believe that these people sit on the sidelines and wonder what are politicians will do next?
We know that there are criminals in this world. That’s why we have police, courts and jails. But what to really rich criminals do? Do you suppose that they might hold up a bank? Mug some old lady? Maybe, break into your house?
Probably not. They have bigger fish to fry. When you are criminally disposed, and have millions, if not billions of dollars at your disposal, wouldn’t you use that money to buy legislation that would give you even more money, or save you from being taxed on the wealth you already have?
If you were a top executive in a major oil producing company, would you be using corporate donations, as well as personal donations, to bribe elected public servants? Would you favor legislation that stops anyone else from getting into the energy business? Might you not use "environmental" concerns to keep domestic oil sources bottled up?
If you were a major defense contractor, wouldn’t it profit your corporation, and you personally, if our military were suddenly thrust into another conflict? Do you think that campaign contributions, and offers for jobs as "consultants" and lobbyists might influence legislators?
If top politicians in both major parties, top executives in banking, corporations, the media, and our military all belong to an exclusive club that advocates world government, doesn’t that kind of make our elections a farce? Is it a coincidence that we rarely hear any kind of discussion advocating a return to the gold standard (which the Constitution mandates( rather than a central bank, or that we should only go to war when Congress declares it?
Why are neither of the major party presidential candidates pointing out the connection between our foreign policy, and the terrorist attacks of 11 September? Why do they both advocate "protecting our freedoms" by undermining the Bill of Rights?
I think these are indications of conspiracy. They are either conspiracies, or coincidences. What do you think?

Shhhhhhhh. Their plan is to make us think that we are ruling ourselves by allowing us to rule ourselves.

All the things you have brought up point to a coming disaster that "we the people" are calmly allowing to happen.
"We the people" are an ignorant, trusting lot who refuse to think that the majority of our elected officials would allow such abuse.
The good thing though about "We the people" is that when we finally do "get the picture", we tend to rise up in terrible retribution. At that time, and not before the disaster has happened, "We the people" will extract such a price from the criminals and their families that they will wish they had the foresight to have committed suicide instead of allowing themselves to suffer the anger of the people.

The most moronic thing about the term conspiracy is the fact people no longer understand what the word actually means. It means the following An agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act.
So of course there are and always will be people planing wrongful acts.
