This question is regarding an online futures trader with a low risk trading system that is highly profitable. He wishes to use his trading strategy/skills to make money for an institution or an individual. However the trader does not have any financial degrees, or experience working as a "professional" trader; only personal trading experience. The trader does not have any "start-up" capital of his own that he is willing/able to risk and is wondering what would be the optimal place to look for employment. Any details would be very helpful, especially from anyone else that has been in a similar situation before.

I hear a lot about how traders buy the Financial Times in the morning read it on the way to work and form their trading strategy for that day based on what they read.

Can someone explain to me how this is done? I got the FT this morning but I don’t quite know what I’m looking for in it to give me the clues for the way the market will move.

What do traders look for in the FT? How does the news that it reports on swing the market?

I always find hypothetical examples pretty helpful so one would be a great help.

Greeting Everyone!

I am just getting into stock trading and have red a few books. Or actually, I am still in the process of reading a few good books. I have an idea of my stock strategy, but would like to know the best discount broker for this strategy.

My strategy is basically a growth and value investing strategy. With this trading strategy I will likely buy/sell a few stocks per month. Definitely not day trading. I might buy some stocks that fit my criteria and then also buy more of that same stock when it goes down in price and still meets my criteria.

I will also probably not use my broker for most of my research, but an outside source. So really I just need a broker strictly for the trading. So I am wondering what the best "bang for my buck" would be in this situation.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

im sorry but i have had spectacular returns every year of over 100% and before the crash i was totally long on stocks but since i cut my loses right away i lost very little and actually made money shorting… now im up even more before the crash! and all the investors are down 30 50 % its sad… im a swing trader and a good one.. so why doesnt everyone just trade… i mean wake up there is no more MSFT,philip morrises or wal marts those days of 20 cent stocks going to 20 dollars no longer exist! so why do they pretend they do?? is it because no everyone can trade successfully because they let emotions get in the way? or they abandon their strategy or cant take the risks but i risk very little i try and diversify my trades yet i outperform everything …
and the more money you have to trade the easier it becomes! as the most successful turtle trader once said the first 2 million is the hardest… after that its 50000 profits and only like 2000 dollars loses… over and over again .. sometimes more or less.. in the long run 100% returns!

ok first what i do is look at yahoo market stats and see which stocks went up the most… i look at their charts and analyze them to see what they did in the past… most went up way to much so i buy PUT options for them… sure enough a few days later i have a 100% profit ive done this 10/12 times! too.. anyone else notice this??

I’m a small investor, a very small investor. I have devised a range trading strategy which only requires two trades per day. My initial investment will be 0, through a cut rate online brokerage. I understand that the NYSE and the NASD, require a minimum of 000 in the accounts of "pattern day traders". However the reason as I understand it, is to protect banks from losses on margin loans. I am going to be 18 in 17 days and I have a practice forex trading account that my brothers set me up with FX Express a few months ago. I have discovered that by using 1:100 leverage and setting the recommended stop-losses are too low and I think its the worst way to go about trading forex for me. I even think that setting the recommended stop-losses is too low anyway.

What I have been doing however is to set my leverage to 1:25, and my stop-losses to the value of all my trading capital, and if neccessary, more than my investment, but I don’t need to do that yet anyway, and its been working out everytime I trade forex at me gaining 10%+ everytime I place a trade. Also its always been done on my favourite currency pair; GBP/USD.

What I’d like to know is if I continue to follow my rules and keep up with my self-made forex trading strategy and style, could I become a millionaire if I keep on winning like this with real money?
