I am just getting intert3ested in investing in stocks, have little money so can only buy a few shares at a time, I have done my homewqork, read books, watch the stocks, . i know the basics, I have even opened up a online trading account. But am having trouble finding a site that I can discuss ideas, stocks, ivesting, etc. on stocks, that is free, and easy to navigate. The online trading account, is good, it helps with the stock you are looking for but has no message board to bounce ideas off of.

I got screwed by E-Trade… I invested 00, and forgot about it, I come back 2 years later and my account is worth 650$ cause they were charging me 25$ a quarter from some fee.

I just want a firm that I can buy some stock online, keep it for as long as I want and not get feed to death every quarter.

I would invest 00 at the start and prob put in 100$ a month and buy stocks long term… prob 5 trades a year.

Any suggestions?

I am looking to buy stock in a company that recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The stock are extremely cheap right now, so buying a 1000 stock will cost me only about a 0. So if the company tanks I will only be out 0.

Am I missing anything? Is this a good idea? I really don’t care about the 0 and I have faith that the company will turn itself around in the next few years.

What do you think?

And, which online broker is the best to go with? I opened a Scottrade account, but they want a minimum 0 deposit, which I don’t want to do.

Let’s say I bought , 1 call option(to stock) cost 3$ .(in strike price of 100.00$).[That's the prices I see in the net for options of real stocks]

Does it mean I have the option to buy the asset 1 time for 100$ , or 100 times for 100$.

Or else , I don’t really pay 3$ but rather pay 300$, If so It solves my confusion[I am actually buying 100 options in price of 3$ for total 300$ deal..]

I’ve been told that online stock sites allow 4 trades within 5 business days and that a "sell" is a trade. You can "sell" 4 times in 5 days. So, when exactly does this 5 day count start?? As soon as I buy and sell 4 stocks.. or even when I buy and sell the first one(whether it’s at the beginning or end of the week)?? Please help me figure this out! THANKS!!
I have an account at zecco.com and I’m trying to figure out how the trading works. I know that if I have the min. of ,000 then I can become a pattern trader (day trader).. but if I have less than that amount.. then how many trasactions are I allowed to make within the 3 or 5 day period?? because I know once I complete a trade I have to wait at least a few days for that money to be processed and cleared before I can use it again. So, does every trade require a waiting period for the clearance of the money, or only after the first few in that time period? I hope that all makes sense.
