I have a quant background in hedging, so I’m not asking for guidance on how to learn modeling or developing strategies for trading options. I have work experience doing option valuation and developing dynamic replication strategies, but I have never done the trading.

I want to start relatively small - I’m comfortable putting about K at risk. I would be looking to hedge options against options while trying to limit the amount of dynamic hedging. I expect that I’ll need set up some margin in addition to any net option premium. Is K reasonable?

Are there brokers specializing in options? Does anyone recommend CME, CBOE or other tools? (I know that some exchanges offer tools for subscription.)

Hello guys. am thinking of doing online stock trading . At the moment i dont know anything about .i’ve been looking for profitable or productive buisness stuffs i could do online, to augment my monthly pay cheque. However i would like to know (1) if its a lucrative online buisness to emback on. (2) If i need special training for it by experts. This question is regarding an online futures trader with a low risk trading system that is highly profitable. He wishes to use his trading strategy/skills to make money for an institution or an individual. However the trader does not have any financial degrees, or experience working as a "professional" trader; only personal trading experience. The trader does not have any "start-up" capital of his own that he is willing/able to risk and is wondering what would be the optimal place to look for employment. Any details would be very helpful, especially from anyone else that has been in a similar situation before.

I have been investing in the stock market for several years, but recently Forex has caught my eye with claims of huge profits, and I have some questions:

1. Is there a site with free tutorials about Forex, the same way Investopedia.com has for stocks? Is there a Forex simulator where I can try it out using fake money?

2. What kind of initial investment does Forex require? What are the commissions/fees like if any? What is the average return (%) for most Forex investors?

3. Where/how do you open up an account? (I’m Canadian.)

4. Is it a lot more speculative/luck-based than the stock market? (A lot higher risk?)

5. I’ve heard a lot of people talking about "systems", "software", etc that they are charging money for. Is there any free software I can get? Are most of the people involved with Forex scam artists or are there some legitimate ones?

I am thinking to go into the stock market. My idea is to trade stocks of well established companies. Looking to make a small profit. I would appreciate it if any one who has experience with day trading can give me some advice. Which sector to pick?. What stratgey to use?.
The strategy that I am working on is to pick companies with good fundementals, but then use technical analysis to do the short term trading. I don’t want to go for the long term investment becuase I don’t like how the stock market has been behaving lately (mostly a down trend).
