Okay I was thinking Zecco but IDK. Firstly I don’t understand it says you need a 2500 minimum to get the free trades so does that mean you have to maintain 2500 dollars in stock and money or just money or like??? Also it says 15.00 for wire funds does that mean I would be charged because on other parts of the site it says something about it being free and something about ACH what is that? Also the thing I lke the least about zecco any maybe someone can help me here is after you sell a stock it takes 3 business days it says before you get the buying power of the money profit I believe. This sucks because compound interest is the best thing over and I might not want to wait 2 business days before I make another purchase to gather more interest on the profits. What should I do?

I’m 24 and in college for engineering. I’m very good a math and the charts and technical analysis comes very very easy to me. I have been using www.freestockcharts.com to paper trade.

Although I am good with charts, I feel too confident with everyone saying that it is so risky and anyone can loose it all.

I got interested about 2 or 3 months ago. I read a couple books and started practicing. In the past 2-3 weeks I’ve profited an avg of 2.7% profit daily over 6 days. (4, 5, 4.6, 0, 1.3, 1.3) There were winning and loosing trades but the losers were mostly small, about 10-15 trades each day. (With enough capitol that could yield a lot of money.

I am yet to experience if the actual market is more difficult than on paper. (I know i have to be even more careful) but the trading software, and ask/bid prices are unfamiliar territory to me.

How do you think i’m doing since i knew nothing about the stock market charts before 09′?
How are my profits so far?
What advice do you have that will make me learn faster?
I’ve been estimating profits from a 000 investment in each stock I purchase. Will it be hard to sell 000 of an avg stock before it starts to drop?

Hey guys, I need a 411 on how to buy stocks and how it works. Just like a short version. I’m 20 yrs old and been saving up some money and decided it might be a good idea to purchase some stocks in the near future considering where the market is right now. I am currently unemployed and I don’t file taxes. I got most of my money from online sales and financial aid from school, so I’m not sure should I buy stocks if it effects my financial aid. I have just started reading about investing a few days ago so I still have a long way to go. Currently, I’m reading Ben Graham’s "Intelligent Investor" and from what I’ve read so far, he’s adverse to speculative trading/day trading and he advocates long-term investing and looking at the value of a company rather than merely looking how its price fluctuates in the market. He cites many examples of speculative traders who incurred big losses in the long-run.

But then, I’ve been following this forum where a professional day trader talks about long-term investment being merely a propaganda. He is saying, to the best of my understanding, that we should take advantage of the volatility of the market and never ever buy-and-hold. And he seems to be very knowledgeable in this area and he’s making big profits out of it. I’ve also read a couple of articles saying that buy-and-hold is a myth and we should always do something about the market trends. But these are the very things that Graham warned the non-professional investor about.

Now, I don’t know what to believe. I don’t know if I will have the answers after finishing Graham’s book. :[

I’ve been doing fundamental and technical analysis for a long period of time.. im sorry but i have had spectacular returns every year of over 100% and before the crash i was totally long on stocks but since i cut my loses right away i lost very little and actually made money shorting… now im up even more before the crash! and all the investors are down 30 50 % its sad… im a swing trader and a good one.. so why doesnt everyone just trade… i mean wake up there is no more MSFT,philip morrises or wal marts those days of 20 cent stocks going to 20 dollars no longer exist! so why do they pretend they do?? is it because no everyone can trade successfully because they let emotions get in the way? or they abandon their strategy or cant take the risks but i risk very little i try and diversify my trades yet i outperform everything …
