If I bought 1000 of stock XYZ for the 00 total in my account on Monday and sold the same amount on Monday (now with a total of 00 in my account), why do I have to wait until Thursday to be able to buy again with the 00 in my account? I’m looking for robot-like trading strategies.

Example: Compare the list of stocks on Investors Business Daily TOP 100 list each week. Select stocks which were added in the current week. Buy 100 shares. Sell if 1) it hits a 10% trailing stop, 2) it falls off the Top 100 list, or 3) after 2 months whether it is up or down.

How can I back test this strategy? How does it compare with other mindless systems? If it can be improved, what changes do you suggest?

My account with a certain online trading brokerage company was frozen until January because I executed more than 3 day trades in a five day period after having asked them to remove my day trading status. So this means I can only liquidate the stock I currently hold, or withdraw funds (no more buy or short sell orders). My question is, if I set up an account at a different online brokerage, would I be able to trade with them? Or am I frozen no matter where I go?

I’d like to trade options on some some ETFs; QQQQ, DIA, SPY, IWM. I’d like to stay focused on a few stocks and trade when they move. I’d prefer not to trade on news; just the technicals.
I use options so that I do not have to risk that much cash(5K) but willing to take the volatility of options.
What indicators and what confirmations should be used to make 1 day-trade per day? .03 - .06 per trade would be fine trading 40-80 contracts.
I currentl use QuoteTracker software using EMAs and WMAs, MO, TRIX and RSI as indicators.
I just can’t seem to get very successful using my settings.
What have you successfully used? What should I be using and what should I be looking for?
