I’ve been told that online stock sites allow 4 trades within 5 business days and that a "sell" is a trade. You can "sell" 4 times in 5 days. So, when exactly does this 5 day count start?? As soon as I buy and sell 4 stocks.. or even when I buy and sell the first one(whether it’s at the beginning or end of the week)?? Please help me figure this out! THANKS!!
I have an account at zecco.com and I’m trying to figure out how the trading works. I know that if I have the min. of ,000 then I can become a pattern trader (day trader).. but if I have less than that amount.. then how many trasactions are I allowed to make within the 3 or 5 day period?? because I know once I complete a trade I have to wait at least a few days for that money to be processed and cleared before I can use it again. So, does every trade require a waiting period for the clearance of the money, or only after the first few in that time period? I hope that all makes sense.

And what does the term "Day Trader" mean? I heard some one refer to people that generate income from trading stocks as a "Day Trader." Anyway, heres my question How do people generate any reliable income from trading stocks? I have a basic understanding, very basic of the stock market. I use to visit etrade & just watch the dow go up & down. But I have no experience & haven’t read anything about it. I watched this documentary, and seen this guy who was really rich. I read later in an article that he is a "Prosperous Commodities trader" So now here i am trying to figure out how he makes money. Like what is the process? how do these guys recognize opportunity in stocks? And at what point does your opinion count in a company, as a share holder? Please, if anyone can educate me on this. And maybe suggest a book or books, or websites w/good info on this? My partner just recently started a full time position as a day trader, something which I know nothing about. His previous occupation was a full time online poker player. While he was able to sustain a decent living, he felt it was time to move on to a profession where he could earn serious cash (also, I suggested that a more stable income may come in handy for future mortgages, and kiddies).

I guess my question is- is day trading a profitable, long-term, occupation? As a previous poker player, who’s had to rely on logic, expected values, math, and so forth; will his skill sets give him a leg up? At 27, is this an ideal career option?

I’m online trying to sign up for an account to invest with an online broker and there are 4 choices to select from.
1. Cash
2. Cash & Margins
3. Cash & Option
4. Cash & Option & Margin

I’m not sure which to pick, I’m thing cash, but not sure.
Basically I just want to buy (trade) stocks and sell them. but I guess that’s what all the options allow you to do. I’m not gonna be a day trader trading alot of shares everyday but I guess just a "regular user".

I currently use sharebuilder… But this doesn’t really give me the ability to pretend im a day-trader. Its great for monthly investing, but i’d love to be able to up and buy 500 shares of a pennystock to resell shortly thereafter. Sharebuilder doesnt do this for me. problem is, most online brokerages seem to require 500 or 1000 or more (like e-trade) to open an account… I dont want to start with that much. I would like to put say 200 in an account and start from there, with low-ticket stocks to get me going. I would need affordable real-time or limit trade commissions obviously to support such low player investing.

I am nearly 18, and I have a very strong interest in Forex trading. I have a practice account with FX Express and have discovered some interesting things and techniques that I’ve discovered myself on how to make money.

I’ve developed my own strategy that works everytime I trade so far, and I’m making 10% compounded everyday I place a trade. in fact I want it to be my career. I will open up a live account with real money as soon as I turn aged 18 with maybe a couple of hundred. The only problem is that my mum and step-dad say "You’ll never make a living out of it", or "You’ll lose all your money." What I’d like to know is if its actually possible to make a decent living out of Forex trading and do you or anyone you know currently do this as a day trader. I’d like to prove them wrong.

I was wondering, if someone uses an online broker, and the were to be a day trader and invested ,000,000 a day on stocks, would they be able to get all the stock they want? or would the online broker not be able to get all the stocks that this person wants. (p.s.- I have no intention on doing this, I was just wondering if they would be able to get all the shares they wanted.)

example: Mr. Mcgoo wants to buy ,000,000 worth of shares of company XYZ and the current price is .35. If he got all million dollars worth he would have about 2,127,660 shares. Could the online brokerage get all of those? Thanks a lot!!
